Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a letter to the American Embassy and directed that all diplomats must now get special permission to leave the capital Islamabad. Informed sources said that security concerns have been cited as the reason.
According to Foreign Office sources, there is no plan to restrict the movement of US diplomats. All security agencies are evaluating possible life threats to diplomats. Enhanced security will be provided to all Saudi, US, British and Iranian diplomats.
