Dr. Hammad Invited to World Seminar on Life Sciences in Canada

ALIGARH, August 4: Dr. G. G. Hammad Ahmad Shadab, senior Assistant Professor in the Section of Genetics, Department of Zoology, Aligarh Muslim University has been invited to attend and present a paper in the “8th World Congress on Alternatives and Animal Use in the Life Sciences” to be held at Fairmont, The Queen Elizabeth Hotel, Montreal, Canada from August 21-25, 2011. The programme is hosted by the Canadian Council of Animal Care.
The World Congress on Alternatives and Animal Use in the Life Sciences are the longest running series of international scientific conferences dedicated to the replacement, reduction, and refinement of animal use in research and safety testing. Since 1993, these conferences have been held every 2-3 years, and have attracted a large international group of stakeholders and leading experts interested in scientific approaches to the development and use of methods that replace, reduce, and/or refine animal-based laboratory methods.
Dr. Shadab has been financially supported by the Doerenkamp-Zbinden Foundation for Alternatives in Biomedicine, Weinmanngasse, Switzerland with the total amount of 10000 USD in order to participate at the 8th world congress. Along with Dr. Shadab three other scientists who have also received financial support from the above foundation are Prof. Mohammad Abdulkader Akbarsha, Director and Chair, Mahatma Gandhi-Doerenkamp Center, Bharatidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, Dr. Krishan Kumar Sharma, Professor and Head, Department of Zoology, Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer and Dr. Hossein Hosseinkhani, School of Biomedical Engineering, National Yang Ming University, Taipei, Taiwan.
Dr. Shadab did research on “Cytogenetic and clinical studies of certain steroids on human chromosomes”. He has significantly contributed in the field of Human Genetics and Genetic Toxicology and recently received training regarding modern trends in alternatives
