ALIGARH July 21: While responding to the warning of hunger strike by Mr. Madeehur Rahman Suhaib, Department of English, the University administration said that the new academic session is starting from August 1, 2011 and some enemies of the University and the community are trying to vitiate the peaceful academic atmosphere of the campus for their vested interests.
AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof. P. K. Abdul Azis has appealed the students and faculty members of the University not to be perturbed by the activities of such elements who are trying to disrupt the academic environment. He urged them to maintain law and order in the campus and desist from such destructive activities.
Prof. Azis said that last time it was a hard decision to close the University sine die after confrontation between the two groups of students. The decision of the sine die closure of the University was a dark chapter. He urged the students to keep away from the politics in the University. He said that the credibility of the Anti-corruption Forum established by Mr. Madihur Rahman is not established as the organization is neither registered under the Society Registration Act nor it has the support of University community.
Mr. Madihur Rahman issued an unsigned appeal during his last stint of hunger strike even after the written appeal by the Vice Chancellor. His earlier hunger strike was a total failure and now he is again trying to disturb the academic atmosphere of the University on the very onset of new academic session.
The Vice Chancellor regretted that Mr. Rahman, a member of a respected and distinguished family, who played prominent role in the development of the University, is now working against the interests of the University.
