AMU to introduce self finance scheme and eve classes for XIth

ALIGARH, July 20: A Consultative Meeting of Deans of Faculties chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Professor P.K. Abdul Azis today approved the proposal to introduce XI Classes under Self-finance scheme as was being done last year subject to the approval of the Academic Council meeting to be held on July 30, 2011. This will result more admissions in SSC (Boys) and SSC (G). New section will be introduce in each streem.
AMU Registrar and Manager of the University maintained Schools, Prof. V.K. Abdul Jaleel said that additional sections will be started as afternoon classes subject to availability of infrastructure facilities. One section will be opened for the each class under science and commerce streams in the Senior Secondary School (Boys) and one section each for science, commerce and Arts stream will be opened at the Senior Secondary School (Girls).
The proposal was submitted by the Controller of Examination, Prof. Pervez Mustajab and approved by the Deans. Eighty percent seats in each streams will be offered to AMU Schools’ students and rest 20% seats will be filled by nomination by the Vice Chancellor without category. Registrar, Prof. V.K. Abdul Jaleel appealed to all agitating students to withdraw their protest and cooperate with the University administration.
Afternoon classes for XI standard resumed
ALIGARH, July 18: A Consultative meeting under the chairmanship of AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor P.K. Abdul Azis today examined in detail the issue relating to accommodating maximum number possible of students of AMU Schools who could not get admission in Class XI by opening the self finance afternoon sections as was being done last year.
The Vice Chancellor has instructed the Controller of Examinations to prepare a detailed framework for the consideration and placement before the meeting of the Dean of the faculties slated for Wednesday. The matter of accommodating AMU Schools’ students in the XI class will be worked out in accordance with the availability of infrastructure.
Prof. Pervez Mustajab, Controller of Examination has explained the last year arrangements. The members are of the view that the AMU schools should be brought in line with the RTE policy of the government and to be upgraded to XII standard.
AMU Registrar and Manager of Schools, Prof V.K. Abdul Jaleel, Dean, Students’ Welfare, Prof. Ainul Haq, Finance Officer, Mrs. Yasmeen Jalal, Proctor, Prof. Mujahid Beg and media Advisor, Prof N.A.K Durrani were present in the consultative meeting.
